2010 Marc Jacobs Color forecast Report

I think everything has its law. Even a designer., his taste and chance can be analyzed and predictable. That’s why marketing industry is so important nowadays. Though I only learn the basic knowledge of color, it is still useful for my analysis. Here is my report. It is virtually not a formal report.

Analysis based on collection 2000-2009

Time line of Marc Jacobs from 2001 to 2009

I briefly describe the changes during this period. Obviously, the palettes between 2001 and 2009 have an apparent difference. In the former stage, Marc Jacobs preferred to choose some warm colors. Little variation was in this stage. Furthermore, the chroma of most color was low and the value was turned to light or dark. The overall mood was soft, earthy, neutral and warm. It was quite unfamiliar to his present preference. For the latter stage, he would like to select bright color. The colors are full of energy and power. More hues are chosen in one collection. Base on last few collections, I observe that he likes using Angled accents scheme. Therefore, I predict that he will use this scheme in the coming year. He is used to use either monochromatic or complementary scheme in the outifits. In additional, Black and gray was appeared in all of the collection. The possibility that shifts this two color into 2010 is really high.

Cultural and lifestyle trends with true global relevance affect the color preference. As the wide The influence of Obama effect and financial tsunami is wide. Firstly, Obama make the people hopeful especially Marc Jacobs as he is an american. Additionally, people desire stability from financial tsunami. Therefore, I predict blue is another color of 2010.

Combined with my analysis, here is my color forecast for 2010 collection.

I select bright fuchsia and light turquoise then I use Angled accents color scheme to choose the others colors.

I believe that 2010 collection will use this scheme for collection as he used this at recent collection.

For the outfits, he will use Monochromatic scheme and complementary scheme.

Fall 2009 RTW

Maybe it was the recent Stephen Sprouse project he completed at Louis Vuitton, or perhaps it's the fact that he now lives in Paris full time, but his Fall show was a big, juicy nostalgic kiss to a city that doesn't really exist anymore.
This is an exceptional collection that MJ uses a plenty of high chromatic color. The style is fashionable. I think the palette is inspired by the graffiti of Sprouse.FULL OF ENERGY!

All About Colors

Plenty of hues along the wheel were selected in the collection. Intense colors are used.

These clothes are challenging for different reasons than were the difficult transparent pieces he featured for Spring, but they'll be no less coveted. As for the show's accessories, women everywhere will have Jacobs to thank when other designers follow his lead and start producing a lower heel. That's the power of Jacobs' mystique.
