Fall 2003 RTW

This season, Jacobs is clearly feeling very mod. His show, set to churning punk rock , was a color-splashed paean to pop, with overt references to the sixties space-age designs of Courrèges, Paco Rabanne, and Rudi Gernreich. Minidresses and jumpers. He broke through the traditional style of his previous collection. The colors are modern. White combining with blue is so cool~~~!Some new trial combination of color , like orangered and blue , is outstaning. That is a modern but also a vintage design.

Spring 2003 RTW

Hard and soft, past and present, good girl and bad girl—Marc Jacobs loves to play with opposites. For Spring, he worked all those elements together into a collection that was sweet but with a hint of a hard edge. Besides black and white, other colors are so light. The mood is causal and soft.

In this collection, no cool color is used. All colors are concentrated in warm color.

Supplementary of the Fall 2002 RTW analysis

The September 11 attacks (often referred to as nine-eleven, written 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the US on September 11, 2001. On that morning, The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in NY, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings.

Everyone were shocked and depressed by the accident. As the F2002 RTW was prepared in late 2001, the collection was influenced by the accident. Consumer's preference on colors is motified. Therefore, the collections of F2001 were in dull.

Fall 2002 RTW

The colors are obviously duller than the last collection. The palette was limited to shades of ivory and khaki, with occasional shots of azure, wine, or crimson—mostly looks for women, with about a quarter devoted to his growing menswear line. There are some possibilies that affect the chance the color chance. The most influerancial possibilities are not only the coming Fall season, but also both the emotions of the consumer and MJ were fluctuated by the accient - 911.
The colors are also matched with the military style design.

Color scheme: Beidge, tan and maroon are adjacent colors so it is an Analogous Color Scheme.
Besides, black and white are Achromatic Color Scheme.

Spring 2002 RTW

Spring is all about color.
Designers are staging a backlash against fall's somber mood,
and Jacobs is spearheading it. This season is apparently different from his previous collections.
He used more hues to present the mood of the collection. The colors are nature and warm. All of them are floral color.

Black & white, Forest green, Orchild,
Sky blue, Purple, Orange, Brown

Wheel color scheme are used. Purple, blue, orange , yellow, red and green hue are included in the colors.

Outfit : Analogous color scheme
These are related colors from a pie shaped slice of the color wheel. Purple, salmon and blue are in the hamony by using same chroma.

His style of the design is flat and the silhouette is just the sahpe of body.

Fall 2001 RTW

Gone were all of Spring's campy, sugar-coated references to the clubby '80s. Fashion's recurring ladylike motifs with playful details and an unforced spirit of innocence. The style seems familiar. MJ's collections always let us feel comfort to wear in vision. All the designs are not exaggerated but have many details that are attractive. All the colors are in hamony.

The main hues are blue and pink. The variations of the colors are on the degree of chorma and value.

The outfits always use monochromatic color

You can see that he utilize color to create illusion on the collar. In vision, there is a collar but the collar is only created by few black/white lines.

Fall 2000 RTW

This collection reveals the classic design of 70's. Simple designs never get out-dated. These colors absolutely are my choice. The colors choosen are classic. The mood is neutral , classic and warm. Low chroma was still put into effect.

Mainly 3 hues were used with similar saturation. This kind of color scheme is called Angled Accents.
